Original passage: A Library Experiment
When Northbridge School moved its library opening time from 8:00 to 7:30 a.m., the librarian expected students to use the extra half hour for quiet reading. During the first week, however, most early visitors came to finish group projects. Their conversations made it difficult for other students to concentrate.
Instead of cancelling the trial, the librarian asked visitors what they needed. Some students had long bus journeys and wanted a calm place to read before class. Others had no shared free period during the school day. The librarian divided the room into two areas: tables near the entrance for group work and desks at the back for silent study. Students were asked to keep their voices low even in the group area.
After four weeks, morning visits had increased. In a short survey, several students said they liked being able to choose where to sit. The librarian was pleased, but she did not claim that the new arrangement had improved anyone’s grades. No test results had been collected, and the project deadline during the final week might also have attracted more visitors. She planned to continue recording visits after the deadline before deciding whether to keep the earlier opening time.

1. 先找轉折改變了什麼
第一段的 however 說明實際用途不同於預期：原先期待安靜閱讀，實際上卻有人做分組報告。第二段 Instead of cancelling 表示管理者沒有立即取消，而是了解兩種需求。先畫出這兩次轉向，比逐字翻譯更容易掌握問題與回應。
2. 把量到的結果與想知道的結果分開
本文量到 morning visits 增加，也收集部分使用者意見；沒有收集 grades。人數變多不等於成績變好。看到選項說明成績提升時，即使符合一般期待，也要退回文中找證據，不能用自己對圖書館的印象補上空白。
3. 注意比較級、全稱詞與原因
Several 只表示其中一些學生，不是 all；might 是可能，不是確定。文章指出 deadline 可能影響人數，因此也不能說增加完全來自分區。推論題常難在範圍而非生字：把 several 改成 everyone，就可能讓整個選項失去依據。

重點是寫出「沒有成績資料」。再指出截止日可能影響人數，能呈現證據限制；不必照抄參考句，文法小錯與推論錯誤也應分開檢查。
